Boat insurance through Alabama-Georgia Insurance includes the following:

- Towing and Assistance Coverage – covers the transportation of your boat to a repair facility

- Covers cost of repair or replacement if damaged or stolen after deductible is met
- Covers damage as a result of a collision with another vehicle or object
- Covers damage as the result of something like fire, vandalism, or theft
Replacement Cost Personal Effects
This coverage covers the cost of personal items while they are on board an insured boat or while they are being carried on or off an insured boat. Coverage is available for up to $5,000. A $100 deductible applies for theft.
Actual Cash Value (ACV)
ACV is determined by the following factors at the time of the loss: market value, age of boat, condition of boat. ACV is viewed as the most economical choice for boat insurance. If a boat is declared as a total loss, ACV coverage will pay either the lower of the ACV at time of loss or the rating base.
Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability (BI/PD)
Up to the limit of liability chosen, this coverage will cover all legal liability for any accident where there is damage or injury to someone or something. Insurance will pay for the cost to repair or replace property as well as medical bills and lost wages for the injured party. You can get a BI/PD limit up to $500,000 combined single limits.
Included in the BI/PD policy is fuel spill liability coverage. This will cover an unintentional fuel or oil spill for which you will be held legally responsible that results in property damage or bodily injury.
Costs acquired by you as a result of removing wreckage of your insured boat are covered. The limit of liability can vary due to whether or not you are legally required to remove the wreckage.
Total Loss Replacement
This type of coverage is offered for new boats up to one model year old. In the event of a total loss, this coverage will replace the boat with a new boat that is as close as possible to the same make and model of the original and contains comparable equipment.
For boats over 5 years old, the rating base will be paid.
In order to obtain this coverage, a sales receipt must be presented to determine a rating base.
Uninsured Boater
This coverage policy covers the payment for damages, wage loss, and medical treatments you would have received had the other party been insured. Damages will be covered up to your selected limit of coverage.
Medical Payments
Regardless of who is at fault for the accident, this coverage will pay for the medical care needed as a result of a boating accident. The policy holder and the individuals in your boat and are covered. This coverage also covers injuries as a result of water skiing and tubing.
Agreed Value
With this coverage, if your boat is declared a complete loss, you will be given the rating base initially determined for your boat regardless of the actual cash value at the time of loss. Agreed value coverage is not available for personal watercraft.
On-Water Towing and Labor Coverage
This coverage will pay for towing and labor costs up to $1,000 per occurrence. Labor coverage is a cost that is reimbursed. It applies when the labor is preformed onsite.
Navigational Area
This coverage covers the navigation of all inland lakes, rivers and waterways in the Continental United States and Canada. It also includes ocean waters 50 miles or less from the coast of the US or Canada.
Fishing Equipment
This coverage pays for the loss of damage of fishing equipment while on board an insured boat or while being carried on or off an insured boat. The max coverage is $10,000 with a $100 deductible for each loss. The policy will only pay up to $1,000 on any one item. This coverage is not available for personal watercraft. A claim of theft must be supported by visible evidence of forced entry.
Roadside Assistance
This coverage provides towing assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to the closest repair center. This coverage also includes the labor at the time of disablement when the vehicle or trailer is disabled due to the following:
- Battery Failure
- Lockout
- Flat Tire
- Mechanical or Electrical Breakdown
- Stuck in snow, mud, or sand within 100ft of a roadway
- Low on fuel, water, oil, or other fluids
Water Sports
The following water sports are automatically included with Liability and Medical Payment policies:
- Water Skiing
- Knee Boarding
- Wake Boarding
- Tubing
The following water sports are not included on any insurance policy:
- Parasailing
- Hang Gliding
- Kite Skiing
- Any other activity involving a device designed for flight
